City Council candidate Brent VanNorman was looking for a way to gain name recognition in Tulsa, OK. He ran previously in his home state of Virginia, but was looking for an updated brand that would resonate with his constituents in the most diverse district in the city of Tulsa.
User/Audience: District 2 Tulsa Voters (middle-class families and blue-collar workers)
Scope: Graphic Design, Brand Consulting, Marketing
After my initial interview with Brent and his team, I put together a set of sketches and concepts. From here, we narrowed down to the option that best represented the candidate.
Sketches were made using Procreate (iPad) and Adobe Illustrator.
Brent and his team selected the final logo that would represent his name, along with key values he wanted to associate with his campaign: reliability, trustworthiness, and loyalty.
After completing the logo, I supported my client with additional collateral to get his logo and brand into the Tulsa community.
The new logo and brand served as a visual launching point for Brent VanNorman’s campaign for Tulsa City Council. One month after the campaign launch, Brent gained enough name recognition to switch to the mayoral race, and will be up for election in August 2024.
