City Year is a national non-profit that helps students and schools succeed. After serving two years as an AmeriCorps Member, I joined staff at the Tulsa site.
In this role, I:
Lead cross-functional teams to execute projects for fundraising, community engagement, and staff support
See event detail below
Coordinate monthly newsletters and quarterly staff retreats to provide information and inspiration to staff
Assist fundraising team with End-Of-Year Appeal, yearly Impact Report, and visual materials
Increased social media engagement 146% across four platforms in first six months
April 6, 2023 – Fundraiser
Each year, the annual luncheon provides an opportunity for AmeriCorps Members serving in classrooms to network with members of the Tulsa community, and for community members to learn more about the work that City Year Tulsa does.
I managed a team of 10 City Year staff members who oversaw pieces of the event, such as parking, networking, and table centerpieces. I also coordinated with the venue and catering staff to provide a meaningful experience to nearly 700 attendees. At the conclusion of the event, over $220,000 was raised to support Tulsa schools.
January 16, 2023 – Community Service
178 volunteers, serving a combined total of over 1,200 hours, joined forces to serve the students at McLain High School, one of City Year Tulsa’s partner schools.
I worked with school leadership to determine needs in the school and developed a project list. From there, I led a team of staff members to create a prep list, shopping list and project training sessions.
Each Quarter – Internal Team Building
Staff Retreats are meant to create memorable experiences for staff members and set a clear vision for the site.
I oversaw the event experience by working with internal teams to execute venue, catering, programming, and fun activities, such as attending a hockey game during of winter retreat.
I support the Development Team with visualizing reports for used for fundraising.
