Scope: Revamping Hole #3 of Canal Shores Golf Course to be a place for nearby front-line workers to relax
My Role: Project Coordinator of Butler Cabin Painting and Mural
Impact:
Repainted the Butler Cabin and adding a Canal Shores logo to greet the community into the space
Created outdoor seating area by constructing four new picnic tables and two double planter benches
Constructed four garden boxes and three vertical garden boxes to incorporate more plants into the area
Replaced old bushes with new native plants and added new soil and ground cover surrounding three sides of the third tee box outside the Butler Cabin
In preparation for this service project, I developed four Project Coordinator Guides (PCGs) for each Coordinator to use as they led volunteers in each type of service.
Four organizations came together to provide service and impact an estimated 500+ community members. New seating, fresh greenery, and a brightened building will invite nearby hospital workers and firefighters to enjoy the outdoors during commute and break times.
The Net Promoter Score (NPS) for this event was 85+.
Other surveys from volunteers indicated:
A strong sense of accomplishment (4.9/5)
Satisfaction with their Project Coordinator (4.9/5)
Overall experience was a 4.85/5
